A biometric machine alone does not finish the job
Most Indian companies already have a fingerprint or face attendance device at the gate. The trouble starts at month end: someone exports the punch log, fixes missed punches by hand, works out who came late and who did overtime, and then types paid days into a payroll sheet. Every step is a chance for an error and a worker dispute.
VelHR picks up the punches from the device, matches them to each employee's shift and gives HR a clean attendance register. When the month closes, the same data drives payroll, so overtime, loss of pay and statutory deductions all come from the punches your workers actually made.

What it costs
Live biometric sync is part of the Factory plan at ₹2,499 a month for up to 50 employees and ₹45 for each extra employee, so an 80-employee unit pays ₹2,499 + 30 × ₹45 = ₹3,849 a month plus GST. Smaller offices that can upload punch files can start on Starter at ₹999 a month for up to 25 employees. Which biometric machines does VelHR support?
VelHR connects live to eSSL and ZKTeco fingerprint and face attendance devices on the Factory and Enterprise plans. On the Starter plan you can import punch files from any device in CSV format.
Do we have to buy a new attendance machine?
Usually not. If you already run an eSSL or ZKTeco device we connect it. If you need one, we can supply a biometric device for ₹2,000 each, and the first device is connected free on annual plans.
How are missed punches handled?
VelHR flags missing in or out punches for each day. Supervisors or HR can correct them with a reason, and the correction is recorded before payroll is run.
Can it calculate overtime and late marks automatically?
Yes. You define shifts, grace time and overtime rules once. VelHR compares actual punches with the shift and works out late marks, early exits and overtime hours for each employee.
Does attendance flow straight into payroll?
Yes. Paid days, loss of pay and overtime from attendance feed directly into the monthly payroll, which also produces PF ECR, ESI and PT reports.
